Having moved aback again to iPhone to see how it has progressed over the last 9 years I realise that one area it does still lack is with really powerful scripting like Tasker for Android provides. I'm not exaggerating when I say Tasker is extremely powerful, and you can automate all sorts of low level functionality, or even simple ones like alerting you to a lost WiFi signal (ie. you may have lost your mobile hotspot).
But iPhone does have an app called Shortcuts which is well worth having a look at for lots of useful automation that can be set up. You need to go through it a bit just to be aware of what all can be done.
