Must say I really like that display the newer Africa Twins are showing off (makes my BMW look positively dated, and I have a steady flow of website visitors daily trying to figure out how BMW's cryptic long and short-press button configuration commands work).
It's true that off-road adventure motorcyclists are massive users of Garmin and other standalone GPS devices, so I can see where the attraction would come in with having something like Android Auto available on such bikes. It also means having special RAM mounts and dustproof covers for your phone. All this could be done away with and the phone kept safely in your jacket pocket instead if you had Apple Carplay or Android Auto.
